In the beginning, void and lifeless
Full of a chaotic inner farce on the fallacy of independent
Striving, my irrelevant writhing
To fulfill an unquenchable thirst I was hiding
Inside, but devoid of a pen with which I could pen my pitiful cry for
Assistance, what a distance, dug quite deep after many, many moons of
Resistance to the roar of some incomparable being my heart was
Seeing on the outskirts of comprehension with tension building
Up and then exploding, what terrifying anthems my soul was
Hearing, my creation was ultimately dependent on Your Word

Like honey on my tongue
Like a melody of flesh undone
For when the Lion roars, we'll rejoice
Death is dead and life is in Your Voice
You made my mouth and now I'll sing Your praise
So manifest, in me, Your Holy, Righteous ways
Your Word is reigning in each breath I breathe
So make my life an offering to You, my King

Don't even try to pretend that you could stand
If He took you by the hand and He whispered in your ear
I can promise you would
Crumble, tumble down to your knees
Brother please, why you gonna try to fight this?
You temporarily resist
But in the end every knee will bend for the One who's defending all the
Faithful is He to speak this light unto my feet I will learn to
Speak just like my Father and tell the seas to be quiet and they'll
Listen to authority given through blameless sacrifice on
Calvary's tree, pouring on me these tongues of fire from Your Word

Consecrate my days and nights
The dew reflects the sunrise of Your Word
My flesh is screaming its own requiem
Refine me in Your Word
New colors and tones, when we're alone my system tweaks
You speak, and this fleeting form of
Deadly, unintelligible slander melts away as all the
Brokeness I've given up is mended by Your Grace.I feel the
Water churning, burning deep inside, the sting of evolution.
I'm becoming something unfamiliar and I'm realizing
After all this death I breath, Im better off with Thee, cause I see
The only Way to be free is to bleed
So come and slay me with Your Word
